Pelham strap

Pelham straps are used as a connector so that the bit can be ridden with a single rein. According to the regulations, for most bits with a leverage effect, it is mandatory to use a pelham strap up to class M. A pelham strap can be used for a pelham, pessoa (3-ring bit), or elevator bit, among others. Pelham straps are available in various materials, such as leather and nylon. Additionally, various brands offer adjustable pelham straps, allowing you to create the perfect fit yourself. Leather straps need to be well-maintained to prevent wear and drying out. A nylon pelham strap requires less maintenance. However, it is wise to regularly check the condition of the straps to ensure you have replacements on hand when needed.

The pelham strap is attached by fastening both ends to the respective bit rings. The rein is attached to the connection that is thus created. The straps come in the colors black and brown, so they match nicely with the color of the bridle.
