Copper & Cherry roller

The copper & cherry mouthpiece is equipped with multiple rolling parts that encourage the horse to play with the bit, resulting in relaxation in the jaws. The movement of these rollers promotes saliva production, making it easier for the bit to be accepted. Additionally, this mouthpiece discourages the horse from grabbing the bit; instead, the bit rolls the pressure away. Due to the rounded shape of the mouthpiece, a cherry roller has a gentler effect than the Magenis bit.

The use of copper material is currently very popular. Copper oxidizes when it comes into contact with the horse's saliva, giving off a sweet taste, which generally makes the bit well accepted. It also enhances mobility and relaxation in the mouth. The mobility of the rings invites the horse to play with them.

The copper & cherry mouthpiece is often used in the sport as a basic bit because it is suitable for many horses and riders. The mouthpiece is especially suitable for horses that naturally tend to hold the bit and produce little saliva. It is generally accepted by both young and trained horses. Finding the right bit depends on the combination of horse and rider, based on the preferences of both. At HorseOnline, you can test the bit before buying. A copper & cherry mouthpiece is FEI-approved and can be used for both jumping and dressage competitions.
