Girths

A well-fitting girth is just as important as a well-fitting saddle. The girth should be chosen for the horse based on its characteristics and preferences. In our unique assortment, you will find various jumping girths. These come in brown and black colors, with and without a belly flap, with or without elastic inserts, and with or without fur.

A girth with a belly flap provides optimal protection for the horse's belly. The belly flap protects the horse from injuries, for example, when bending its legs over a jump or when wearing shoes with studs. Girths with belly flaps are available in various materials and designs. One of the most commonly used materials is leather, but they are also available with a fur lining, which provides extra comfort.

As the name suggests, anatomical girths are designed to perfectly fit the horse's build. The cutout at the elbow provides sufficient freedom of movement for the horse. These girths are suitable for horses with a pronounced girth groove, as the shape prevents the girth from sliding and the saddle from shifting.

Girths with elastic inserts should be used with caution. They can be easily over-tightened. Make sure there is always enough space between the girth and the horse's belly, and that the horse's breathing and movement are not restricted. Generally, girths with elastic inserts are used for horses sensitive to pressure. They are suitable for both young and experienced horses.
