Gel pads & Half pads
Using a saddle pad provides better pressure distribution and shock absorption. In the unique assortment of Horseonline, you will find various types of saddle pads.
A gel pad can be used between the saddle and saddle pad. This pad is made of high-quality gel, which distributes pressure and compensates for small irregularities. Some gel pads have an anti-slip layer, which prevents the saddle from sliding or slipping. There are various regular, therapeutic, or corrective gel pads available. Some gel pads are thicker at the front or back, allowing you to slightly adjust or correct the position of your saddle. This is advantageous when your horse is growing and may have more or less muscling for a short period. Nowadays, many saddle pads are made from a combination of gel and another material to provide an anti-slip effect.
A sheepskin saddle pad comes in many different designs. The sheepskin is extremely soft for your horse's skin and is known for its cushioning effect. Sheepskin pads can be made from various types of sheepskin, such as sheepskin, lambskin, or merino wool. Sheepskin is quite thick, which means it takes up quite a bit of space under your saddle. The sheepskin pad elevates your saddle slightly on your horse's back, and whether this is advantageous or not depends on the rider and the horse. A version with a spine cut-out ensures that the pad lays freely over your horse's spine, allowing unrestricted movement and allowing your horse to develop proper muscling.
Please note! A saddle pad should only be used under a well-fitted saddle. An underpad cannot make a poorly fitting saddle fit properly. Consult your saddle expert for appropriate advice.
